Since bar codes and wireless scanning are completely integrated with PdMAIN, the transactional system can take advantage of those inputs to provide up-to-the-second queries. Data may also arrive into PdMAIN from Machine Interfaces (like the PdLIGHT application).

The PdMAIN transactional system monitors incoming data and will send alerts when that data is outside pre-determined specifications. For example, if a Work Centre is scheduled for a 1 hour set up, the supervisor can be notified via an alert if the set up duration reaches the 61st minute, thereby drawing attention to only those processes that are not behaving according to plan.

All processes can be defined as operations and steps in PdMAIN and the real-time data is continuously updating the progress of the processes. This allows scheduling and planning modules to be extremely accurate as they are continuously adjusted based on what is actually happening now - not what happened hours ago.

Daily Run Sheets, Inventory Enquiries, Service Contract Sales, Parts Ordering and total mobility are some of the many features of this wireless network based application.

ON-SITE WIRELESS

Mobile operators connected to the network using RF technology use in the warehouse and on the factory floor the PdMAIN Touch Screen modules.

PdMAIN's Service application is a collection of PdMAIN modules designed to execute on mobile computers that communicate with a PdMAIN host computer. Service Call information is transferred to the mobile computers from the host Dispatch modules using commercial dial-up and wireless networks and Call Completion information is sent back to the host. Inventory information is communicated for on-hand enquiries and ordering new parts.

The pricing of services is automatic and Invoices for all types of payments may be generated directly from the mobile computer's portable printer and given to the customer. Appliance and Contract sales can also be initiated using PdMAIN's Service.

Real-time shop floor data collection systems capture transaction information at the point of origin and this data is immediately available to the enterprise. Inventory Management

The PdMAIN application manages all aspects of inventory, item definitions and packaging. Inventory control and management is the heart of the PdMAIN software. Inventory excesses tie up cash; shortages interrupt customer demand and fulfillment. Accurate and timely inventory on-hand and replenishment information is critical to controlling inventory levels. PdMAIN's inventory management system affords complete visibility of where inventory has been used, is currently being used and where it is committed for future use. It provides the tools to minimize inventory while running an efficient, customer-service focused operation.

Raw Materials, Work in Process, Sub-assemblies, Components, Finished Goods, Customer Stock, Supplies, Machine Parts etc. are tracked and controlled within the Materials application using Radio Frequency scanning and Bar Code technology as appropriate. Multiple warehouses and multiple locations are supported.

The Material Modules are used to track all aspects of inventory management, including shipping, receiving, issuing and adjustments. The Bill of Material is used to calculate cost roll ups and display Item "explosions". There are over 100 PdMAIN modules that are affected by the inventory system directly.
