Logistics & Shipping

The benefits of PdMAIN's Logistics and Shipping modules is in improved customer service, reduced finished goods inventory, reduced shipping costs and increased production. Shipping and tracking movement of inventory towards shipments is the one of the last steps in the delivery cycle for manufacturing plants.

The PdMAIN application handles the logistics associated with material movement through the Material Planning modules. The shipment is considered to be either the incoming materials that will be warehoused or the outgoing materials that are sent to customer. PdMAIN addresses both processes using the same modules and calculates the logistics around the shipment. The Packing Orders modules are part of a specialized sub-system of PdMAIN for receiving, packaging and shipping 3rd party materials, items and components. Some PdMAIN customers handle shipping on an up to the minute degree of accuracy, especially for the automotive industries or Just In Time processors.

Warehouse Management

PdMAIN provides a comprehensive warehouse management system designed for customers who are focused on warehousing, distribution and fulfillment, with a need for complete control and visibility of all distribution operations. The PdMAIN system can deal with a single warehouse, multi-divisional, or multi-company warehouse operations. Managing resources and inventory is the critical element to profitability for many organizations. The PdMAIN system is capable of simplifying this complex requirement with many features developed through decades of experience and seamless integration of the modules within the enterprise software. The warehouses may be various physical, geographic locations or may be logical warehouses in one location used for GL account assignments. For example, warehouse codes may be assigned to different kinds of shipments and sales or shipments by warehouse can be tracked in the GL.

Throughout the complete warehouse management system, automated bar-coding and sophisticated data collection devices are used as appropriate offering very deep functionality.
